The European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) is Europe’s legal and scientific benchmark for pharmacopoeial standards which contribute to delivering high quality medicines in Europe and beyond. The Ph. Eur. is legally binding in 39 European countries and applied in more than 130 countries worldwide.
The 11th Edition (including Supplement 11.8) contains 2,528 monographs, 397 general texts (including general monographs and methods of analysis) and more than 2,930 descriptions of reagents.
The texts concern the qualitative and quantitative composition of medicines, the tests to be carried out on medicines, on the raw materials used in the production of medicines and on the intermediates of synthesis.
It contains texts covering substances, excipients, substances or preparations for pharmaceutical use of chemical, animal, human or herbal origin, homoeopathic preparations and stocks, antibiotics, as well as dosage forms and containers. It also applies to biologicals, blood and plasma derivatives, vaccines and radiopharmaceutical preparations.
The 11th Edition consists of 3 initial volumes (11.0) complemented by 8 updates issued three times a year to create collection of 8 supplements (11.1 to 11.8) until 2025. Access to Ph. Eur. online archives is included to all users with an up-to-date subscription (print or ONLINE).

Die European Pharmacopoeia ist in 39 europäischen Staaten verbindlich. Die gemeinsamen Vorschriften erleichtern den freien Warenaustausch innerhalb Europas und sichern eine einheitliche Arzneimittelqualität.
Die 11. Ausgabe der European Pharmacopoeia ist im Juli 2022 mit dem Erscheinen des Grundwerks gestartet. Das Grundwerk (3 Bände) wird über 3 Jahre regelmäßig durch Nachträge aktualisiert. Bis 2025 umfasst die European Pharmacopoeia somit weitere acht ergänzende Veröffentlichungen.
Die European Pharmacopoeia enthält Analysenvorschriften für Arzneistoffe, Arzneipflanzen, Impfstoffe, Blut und Blutprodukte, Nahtmaterialien, Darreichungsformen, Behältnisse und die dafür verwendeten Materialien, sowie Reagenzien und Hilfsstoffe. Anhand der Vorschriften werden Identität, Reinheit und Gehalt geprüft, also die Qualität von Arzneimitteln sichergestellt.
Die European Pharmacopoeia erhalten Sie als Abonnement. Im Jahresbezugspreis enthalten sind sämtliche im Abo-Zeitraum erscheinenden Updates bzw. Nachträge (für das Jahr 2024/2025 die Ausgaben 11.6, 11.7 und 11.8) sowie der Zugang zum Ph. Eur. Online-Archiv bis 31.12.2025.
