Gastrointestinal lymphomas have attracted increasing interest over the past few years and are a topic characterized by intensive and ongoing activity. Insights into their pathogenesis and biological behavior have expanded impressively. However, this increased understanding has also raised many new questions. Experts from all over the world came together to exchange their experiences and to discuss new concepts at an international symposium in Würzburg, Germany, in 1998. This book summarizes the presentations.

I. Basics, Histomorphology and Molecular Biology
Epidemiology and Prognostic Aspects of Gastric Malt-Lymphoma
Helicobacter pylori in Gastric Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Type Lymphoma
Tumor Biology of Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphomas
Histological Grading with Clinical Relevance in Gastric Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) Lymphoma
Pathology of Intestinal Lymphomas
Gastric Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma: Implications of Animal Models on Pathogenic and Therapeutic Considerations - Mouse Models of Gastric Lymphoma
II. State-of-the-Art
Vaccination Against Helicobacter pylori
III. Clinical Aspects
Primary Gastric Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma: Requirements for Diagnosis and Staging
Gastric Lymphomas: Aspects of Follow-Up and After-Care
