This book provides a selection of the best papers presented at the 18th Conference of the Portuguese Association for Information Systems (CAPSI), which was held in 2018. The focus of the conference and of these proceedings lies on the interplay between information systems and Industry 4.0. All contributions, which include original research, review papers and case studies, were peer-reviewed in a double blind process.

Isabel Ramos is Associate Professor (PhD, Habilitation) at the Department of Information Systems of the University of Minho in Portugal. She has a PhD in Information Technologies and Systems, specialization in Information Systems Engineering and Management, since 2001. Isabel Ramos is Director of the Doctoral Programme in Information Systems and Technologies and President of the Portuguese Association for Information Systems. She is Secretary of the Technical Committee 8 (Information Systems) of IFIP - International Federation for Information Systems, as well as the Portuguese representative.  She was awarded the IFIP Outstanding Service Award and IFIP Silver Core Award. Isabel Ramos advises several PhD and Master Dissertations in the areas of Knowledge and Innovation Management and IST for Organizational Resilience. She is the principal researcher in several projects in partnership with Portuguese companies and governmental agencies as well as in European funded projects. She is co-author / co-editor of 9 books and more than 120 scientific and technical papers.

Rui Quaresma is Assistant Professor at the Department of Management of the School of Social Sciences of the University of Évora in Portugal. He has a PhD in Management since 2005. He is vice-director of the Doctoral Programme in Management. Rui Quaresma directed several PhD and Master Dissertations and published several scientific articles in Journals and conference proceedings. He is also co-author / co-editor of several books. His research interests include information systems, internet, e-government and e-business.

Paulo Resende da Silva is Assistant Professor at the Department of Management of the School Social Sciences of the University of Évora. He has a PhD in Management since 2005. He is Head of Management Department. He was Vice-Dean of School of Social Sciences between 2013 to 2016. Paulo Resende da Silva advises several PhD and Master Dissertations in the areas of Information System Management, Knowledge Management and Human Resources Management. He is principles researcher in some project and some internal works and project of the University of Évora. His research focus on information management, knowledge management, human resources, and university management.

Tiago Oliveira is Associate Professor at the NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) and Coordinator of the degree in Information Management, and Coordinator of the Ph.D. in Information Management by NOVA IMS and Universidade de São Paulo. His research interests include technology adoption, IT value, digital divide and privacy. He has published papers in several academic journals and conferences, including the Information & Management, Decision Support Systems, Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Business Research, Information Systems Frontiers, International Journal of Information Management, Journal of Global Information Management, Industrial Management & Data Systems, Computers in Industry, International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, among others. Tiago has authored more than 100 scientific articles in Journals and conference proceedings. Tiago has more than 3500 citations on Google Scholar.
