Eberhard Teuscher
Eberhard Teuscher ist approbierter Apotheker. Nach dem Pharmaziestudium und nach einjähriger Tätigkeit in einer öffentlichen Apotheke war er ab 1959 wissenschaftlicher Assistent am Institut für Pharmakognosie der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle/Wittenberg. Nach der von Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. mult. Kurt Mothes betreuten Promotion im Jahr 1962 war er Oberassistent und nach der Habilitation Dozent an der Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald. Von 1977–1992 hatte er eine Professur für Pharmazeutische Biologie an der Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald inne. Hauptlehrgebiete waren Biochemie, Pharmakobotanik und Pharmazeutische Biologie. Schwerpunkte der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit waren die Physiologie der Biogenese von Mutterkornalkaloiden und von Sekundarstoffen pflanzlicher Zellkulturen, Reaktivität und Differenzierungsverhalten isolierter glatter Muskel- und Endothelzellen sowie Untersuchungen zum Wirkungsmechanismus ätherischer Öle. Er ist Autor zahlreicher Bücher.
