Da die Konjugationsstadien nur selten auffindbar sind, ist die geographische Verbreitung der Zygnemales auch derzeit nur lückenhaft bekannt. Deshalb wurden bei dieser Bearbeitung nicht nur die Arten aus Mitteleuropa bzw.
