Trends in Colloid and Interface Science XIV
The 13th Conference of the European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS 99) was held in September 1999 in Dublin, Ireland. It brought together scientists from academic research and industry within the field of physics and chemistry of colloids and interfaces. The Conference focused on the following topics: - Surfactant colloids;
- Polymer colloids and solid particles;
- Food colloids;
- Soft matter interfaces;
- Biosystems;
- Rheology;
- Experimental methods in colloid and interface science.
Food colloids
Does the structure of surfactant complexes on the DNA surface depend on the nucleotide sequence?
Forces between carboxyl and amide groups measured by atomic force microscopy
Adsorption of fluoro surfactants at air-water and water-carbon dioxide interfaces
Adsorption of n-alkyl polyoxyethylene glycol ethers at liquid-vapour and liquid-liquid interfaces
The influence of molecular exchanges on surface dilational properties of surfactant solutions
Molecular recognition of a dissolved carboxylate by amidinium monolayers at the air-water interface
Formation of rigid nanodiscs: edge formation and molecular separation
Chemically grafted field-effect transistors for the recognition of ionic species in aqueous solutions
Detection of waves at an interface by way of an optical fibre
Effects of experimental errors in dynamic light scattering data on the results from regularized inversions
Energy calculations related to aliphatic chain-packing modes
Influence of non-ionic adsorbing substances on the anomalous Kerr effect of hectorite dispersions
Structure, dynamics and interactions in concentrated colloidal suspensions and gels
Light scattering studies of the long time dynamics of foam
Temperature Dependence of the Ultrasonic Parameters of Bovine Muscle: Effects of Muscle Anisotropy
Ultrasonic High-Resolution Longitudinal and Shear Wave Measurements in Food Colloids: Monitoring of Gelation Processes and Detection of Pathogens
In Situ Study of Soft Matter with Atomic Force Microscopy and Light Scattering
